Tasting Note
Ruchè is a distinctively aromatic grape variety grown in the hills of Piedmont’s Monferrato region. This organic example from the family farm of Zoppi Cristina is a vinous jewel with layers upon layers of aroma and flavour. The bouquet is scented with juicy red berries, cinnamon hearts and a kiss of black pepper. On the palate, notes of cherry, cranberry and spice are framed by elegant tannins that build with each sip. A harmoniously balanced wine with a generous depth of flavour and a long finish. While it is impossible to compare such a unique variety, this wine is one to try for those who enjoy top-end Cru Beaujolais. Drink now through 2027. Louise Wilson Cormier – Master of Wine August 2023.
