Born from the dream of the Sannitu family, their winery takes its name from a captivating theory, that the legendary Atlantis island of boundless beauty was not swallowed by a distant ocean, but has always been Sardinia itself. Across 16 hectares of vineyards in the rugged highlands of northern Sardinia, the family tends their vines with quiet devotion, coaxing wines of genuine individuality from ancient granite soils shaped by centuries of wind and tradition. At 350 metres above sea level, the Mediterranean climate delivers dramatic shifts between warm days and cool nights, while the powerful Mistral wind and salt-laden sea breezes protect the vines and leave their clear signature, a vivid mineral freshness that runs through every wine. Bedin Winery

Established in 1948 by Giacomo Bedin on the sun-drenched, south-facing hillsides of the Colli Asolani, Bedin is a fourth-generation family estate carrying more than 75 years of winemaking heritage into every bottle. Cascina Barisel
Piedmont, Italy 

When Enrico Barisél acquired a plot of land in Canelli, in the Asti province of Piedmont, in 1965, he embarked on a journey that would take the better part of two decades, patiently rebuilding the vineyards and winery before releasing his first wines, twenty years later, in 1985. The 8-hectare property is beautifully suited to growing grapes, blessed with gently undulating terrain, calcareous soils and outstanding natural sun exposure. The reins have since passed to Enrico’s son Franco, who carries the family’s unwavering dedication to high-quality forward through disciplined yield control and exacting selection of fruit at harvest, tending the land entirely free of chemical fertilisers and insecticides. From this meticulously farmed estate comes an expressive collection of wines, Barbera, Moscato, Dolcetto and Favorita, alongside traditional method sparkling wines drawn from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, each one a genuine reflection of Canelli and the rich viticultural tradition that surrounds it.

Castello di Cigognola
Piedmont, Italy 

Perched in the Oltrepò Pavese, one of southern Lombardy’s most historied wine regions, Castello di Cigognola is an award-winning estate guided by owner Gabriele Moratti. Across 28 hectares of hillside vineyards stretching from 300 to 350 metres above sea level, a fascinating mosaic of complex soils, steep gradients and varied microclimates provides the ideal setting for Pinot Noir, the variety that sits at the core of what the estate produces. Château Escabes
Gaillac, France 

Rising from the landscape of the Tarn in southern France, the Gaillac appellation stands among France’s most distinctive wine regions. Château d’Escabes is a seventeenth-century estate of rare historical depth, its story rooted in the noble Adhémar lineage first recorded in 985. Since 1974, the Hauchard family has led the estate with equal measures of reverence for the past and ambition for the future. A single, unbroken block of 55 hectares on the right bank of the Tarn, the vineyard occupies an enviable position where oceanic and Mediterranean climatic forces converge, moderated by the Autan wind to create conditions of exceptional balance and natural vine health. Beneath the vines lies a compelling patchwork of clay-limestone, fine, siliceous soil and river gravels, a diversity that finds its expression in wines crafted exclusively from the appellation’s most treasured indigenous varieties. Dell’ Aera Winery

Rooted in a winemaking tradition stretching back several generations, Dell’Aera is a family estate set among the breathtaking hills and fertile plains of Calabria. It was in 1973 that Pasquale Dell’Aera, following in the footsteps of his winemaker father, was enchanted by the beauty of the land and set about planting the estate’s first vines. Decade by decade the property flourished, until 2008 when Pasquale’s grandson Matteo took up the challenge with a singular sense of purpose, to elevate the estate’s wines to the highest level and introduce the Dell’Aera name to the world stage. Spanning over 30 hectares at around 100 metres above sea level, Dell’Aera today is a producer of genuine ambition, its seahorse emblem a meaningful nod to the territory’s extraordinary natural legacy and its ancient ties to Greek mythology.

Elena Catalano
Campania, Italy 

Located on the historic Monte Pino hill in Benevento, this estate has been cared for by the Catalano family since 1923. The vineyards sit at 400 meters above sea level, benefiting from a unique microclimate and mineral-rich soils that favor native Sannio grapes. The winery focuses on high-quality, sustainable production of Aglianico, Falanghina, and Coda di Volpe with extremely low yields per plant. By blending century-old family traditions with modern oenological techniques, they craft elegant wines that deeply reflect their local terroir.

Fogolar Wines
Niagara, Canada 

Marc Pistor spent years training alongside some of Ontario’s finest winemakers before launching Fogolar Wines, a name rooted in his Italian heritage and the ancestral hearth around which family and friends have gathered for generations. Every bottle is an ultra-small batch VQA wine built on an unwavering commitment to vineyard, varietal and vintage, honouring the dedication of Ontario’s grape growers and the remarkable promise of the region. At the centre of the portfolio sit Riesling and Cabernet Franc, two varieties Marc believes speak eloquently to Canada’s distinctive terroir. The first admired for its razor-sharp precision and graceful restraint, the second for its depth, textural richness and profound connection to place. Marzocco di Poppiano
Tuscany, Italy 

Commanding views over San Casciano in Val di Pesa from 300 metres above sea level, Marzocco di Poppiano is a family-owned estate with roots going back to 1975, when Alberto and Meri Chini took ownership of the property and began building something truly their own. Across roughly 70 hectares and 35 individual vineyard parcels, an extraordinary breadth of varieties flourish, four distinct clones of Sangiovese, a venerable Canaiolo dating to the 1950s, Tuscan Trebbiano and Malvasia Lunga del Chianti, complemented by international varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Since 2015, every parcel has undergone separate vinification, a decision that allows the estate’s richly varied soils to speak with clarity and authenticity in the finished wines. At the helm today are Roberta Chini and her husband Maurizio Mazzantini, working in close partnership with winemaker Roberto Tarzariol, a passionate and cohesive team bound by a common calling: to safeguard the land, preserve its traditions and produce wines that, in Maurizio’s own words, weave together history, research and innovation in a place where the story is written by the soil itself.

Mirú Winery
Piedmont, Italy 

The story of Mirú stretches back to the 1500s, when a family of winemakers bearing that very name cultivated vines in the territory of Ghemme. This legacy that was rekindled in 1978 by Eugenio Arlunno, who dedicated himself to honouring this tradition and bringing it new life. Set in the Novara hills of Piedmont, the estate’s vineyards occupy the municipalities of Ghemme and Sizzano, where morainic-alluvial soils with their loamy-clay composition and naturally acidic pH lend the wines a compelling minerality, freshness and vertical character that is entirely their own. Only the native varieties of the territory are grown, Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Uva Rara, managed directly by the family and cultivated since 1986 in collaboration with the University of Milan using an integrated, environmentally conscious approach that minimises impact and preserves the integrity of both grape and landscape. The estate’s flagship, Ghemme DOCG, is a wine of genuine authority, deeply structured, tannic and complex, with violet and spice on the nose and a long, pleasantly bitter finish, aged for a minimum of three years, of which at least twenty months in oak, a testament to the patience and craft that have defined Mirú across the generations.

Nizza Silvano
Piedmont, Italy 

The tradition of making wine in the Nizza family dates to 1957 when brothers Sandro and Alfredo first established the family winery in the hills of Santo Stefano Roero, Piedmont. In this dry continental climate, ideal for grape growing, the vineyards are planted with Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Birbèt on soils of sand, clay, limestone and humus. Today the domain is led by Sandro’s son Silvano, who combines tradition and innovation to realize his winemaking philosophy, “Quality is a choice.”

Osvaldo Barberis
Piedmont, Italy 

Osvaldo Barberis is an organic wine producer located in Dogliani, a high-quality appellation of Piedmont in Northern Italy. Osvaldo represents the third generation of his family to make estate-grown wine from their 11 ha of densely planted vines. Established in 1950, most of the property’s vineyards are dedicated to Dolchetto, the flagship variety of the region; however, Barberis also grows small parcels of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Pinot Nero and Nascetta. The fruit is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides and is picked by hand during harvest. To achieve optimal expression in the glass,the Osvaldo Barberis wines are left unfiltered.

Rive della Chiesa
Veneto, Italy 

What started in 1963 as a single cherished hectare of vines on the “Rive” of the church in Selva del Montello, lovingly tended by Nino and Irma, has grown over six decades into one of the Colli Asolani’s most admired producers of Asolo Prosecco. The portfolio draws its identity from a remarkable confluence of natural advantages, mineral-rich clay and limestone soils, elevations ranging gently from 50 to 350 metres and outstanding sun exposure that together create the ideal environment for the Glera grape to flourish, yielding sparkling wines of vivid freshness, layered aromatics and an unmistakable sense of origin. Now with the fourth generation stepping forward to carry the legacy, Rive della Chiesa remains anchored to the timeless principle that Nino passed down to everyone who followed: that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing properly.

Roberto Crosio Winery
Piedmont, Italy 

Roberto Crosio’s vineyards grow on the morainic hills of Caluso, a quietly storied town in the Canavese district of northwestern Piedmont, sitting at the base of the Aosta Valley. The landscape here bears the imprint of Monte Rosa’s retreating glaciers, which left behind sandy loam soils laden with pebbles and mineral fragments, their naturally acidic character lending Roberto’s wines a distinctive tension, energy and sense of place that is entirely their own. Sheltered by the surrounding mountains, the climate remains cool and reliably well-watered throughout the growing season, conditions that suit the noble Erbaluce grape for which Caluso has been acclaimed for centuries. It is this singular convergence of glacial soils, alpine air and an ancient variety that gives Roberto’s wines their defining qualities, vibrant acidity, layered flavour and an earthy, unadorned minerality that speaks directly of the land from which they come.

Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery
Niagara, Canada 

While the Staff family have been growing grapes in Niagara, Ontario for 125 years; it was Sue-Ann who became the family’s first winemaker. Over an illustrious career, Sue-Ann has accumulated over 600 awards, including the distinction of being the first woman and youngest person to be named Winemaker of the Year at the Ontario Wine Awards. The estate’s vineyards span the Twenty Mile Bench and Vinemount Ridge sub-appellations of the Niagara Peninsula, where a diverse range of varieties including Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris, Baco Noir and Vidal thrive across the varied terroir. Tenuta di Montechiaro

Among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside just outside Siena, Tenuta di Montechiaro is a certified organic, family-owned estate where three hundred years of winemaking heritage are carried forward with purpose and conviction. For the past two decades the estate has been shaped by Alessandro Griccioli, whose vision is grounded in an absolute reverence for the land. Sangiovese and other indigenous Chianti varieties are harvested by hand, fermented spontaneously and guided to the bottle with the lightest possible touch, yielding wines of quiet elegance and authentic territorial character. Zoppi Cristina Winery
Piedmont, Italy 

Zoppi Cristina is an organic winery located in the heart of Monferrato in Northern Italy’s Piedmont region. The property’s 30 hectares of land, protected by surrounding woods and framed by walking paths, are divided equally among vines and hazelnut trees. Wildlife, from ladybugs to wild boar, is encouraged on the farm. The owners, Cristina and Ezio, take several measures, such as limiting production, reducing mechanical processing, lowering yields through pruning and the use of natural fertilizer to increase the quality of their wine. The Zoppi Cristina portfolio consists of Barbera d’Asti, Grignolino d’Asti, Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato and Monferrato Nebbiolo.
